Clubs & Groups

Please note that our Community activities are open to residents only.

1Art and Craft group is a small, friendly, and casual group of men and women using any media they prefer. We meet each Monday 1:00 PM during the season (November to April) at the Clubhouse. This class is a good way to exchange ideas about painting and other crafts and to make new friends. All are welcome to our informal and fun sessions.

The Domino players have TWO GROUPS: meeting in the Annex.

Group One meets every WEDNESDAY at 1:00 PM in the Annex.
Group Two meets every WEDNESDAY at 7:00 PM in the Annex

Like to fish? The purpose of the RGE Fish Club is to assist in booking charters and bringing like-minded “fisher-people” (men and women), together to enjoy the sport.  There is no fee to join. We work together to book off-shore and back country charters, rent boats, match boaters with non-boaters, or whatever it takes to have fun on the water.

We post invitations and details in the monthly RGE FUNny Papers Newsletter; however, e-mail, phone, and texts are critical for rapid responses. For Fish Club events: make CHECKS PAYABLE to “Mike Flaherty” unless otherwise noted.

The Riviera Computer Club is an organization of members whose experience with computers range from the novice to the expert levels in using a computer.

All residents whether owners, or renters, seasonal or full-time, are welcome to join our Riviera Golf Estates Computer Club (RGECC).  Membership is FREE!  Come to a meeting and learn something new while you are having fun.

The RGE/CC meets: NOVEMBER – APRIL 1st & 3rd MONDAYS, 3:00 PM in the Clubhouse.  MAY – OCTOBER 1st MONDAY, 3:00 PM in the Clubhouse, they hold “Help Each Other” sessions

We are always looking for RGE residents who would like to share their knowledge of utilizing a computer to make our lives easier and more rewarding, as well as those who prefer working in a smaller, special interest group, i.e SIG. The tech squad is always seeking those who can help their neighbors in their homes with computer problems that can be as basic as setting the computer up and installing programs to more sophisticated issues.

Free Wi-Fi wireless broadband 802.11g is always available to our residents and their guests at the Clubhouse and the Annex.

Club members are invited to bring their laptops to the meetings so, when instructions are given in solving a particular problem or learning a new skill, they are able to duplicate the action on their own computers. Of course, note taking is allowed as well. Come join us.

The Riviera Men’s Club meets the 2nd TUESDAY of every month at 11:30 am in the Clubhouse.

The Men’s Club at Riviera generally has three different kinds of activities:

First, it holds monthly luncheon meetings which a hundred or more men usually attend. Not only are the food and drink great but the speakers who are active in Collier County politics, news media, professional sports or Naples history provide an inside view that keeps our residents abreast of the current county affairs. We even provide door prizes.

Secondly, the Club organizes a variety of recreational activities such as bus
trips to baseball games, fishing trips on Gulf of Mexico, hockey games, racing at the dog track, day trips on a gambling boat, and a number football pools.

Finally, the Men’s Club provides service. For example in December, the Club usually organizes a Pancake Breakfast which has an admission price of one new, unwrapped, Christmas toy which is sent to the Immokalee Friendship House. In February, a Ladies’ Night provides a show of appreciation, through dinner and entertainment, for all of the support which the men receive and enjoy, individually and collectively, from the RGE women.

All men are welcome! Lifetime membership costs $10 and the monthly lunch fee is $7.

If you have played Mahjongg in the past, or just want to keep your brain sharp by learning something new, come and join us each Thursday 12:30-3:30 in the Annex.

You don’t have to know how to play.  We’ll be happy to help you learn.  It’s great fun!

The form of Mahjongg you may be familiar with is not like the “real” Mahjongg, which is really unlike any other game.  It’s played with tiles, dice and a card containing various “plays”.   The objective of the game is to be the first person at your table to complete a play from the card before anyone else does; that’s called a “Mahjongg”.  Usually there are 4 people at a table with several tables being used at a time.  After each completed game, one person from each table rotates to another table.

The Riviera Motorcycle Riders meet (in-season only) every THURSDAY at approximately 9:00 AM, on the Clubhouse Parking Lot. Meeting time and departure from the lot depends on the ride destinations.  All residents are welcome to join us.

There are no membership requirements to be a part of our group, and no registration or sign-up is required.

Watch for our ride specifics in the monthly FUNny Papers Newsletters and just show-up at the Clubhouse the day of the ride.

The Riviera Readers meet the 2nd WEDNESDAY OCTOBER – APRIL from 11:00 AM – Noon, in the Annex. Each month the group picks out a book and reads it.  Then we meet and enjoy an open discussion.  All are welcome.
