Board of Directors Meeting

Board of Directors present: President Kay Randazzo, Len Bulat, Jerry Rickert, Joe Furgasso, Charlie Brennan, Tony Oteri, Shirley Romano, Treasurer, Wayne Horsewood, IPM representative, Randall Hartline, Secretary, Rose-Mary Bulat

The meeting was called to order by President Kay Randazzo at 1:00 P.M.
Minutes of the last meeting dated December 18, 2007 were accepted by C. Brennan and second by L. Bulat. Ayes all.
Treasurer’s report: W. Horsewood reported on the manager’s account, cash transfers and financial summary. There was no operating report as of today’s meeting. The report will be ready next week. The budget committee, consisting of Wayne Horsewood, Len Bulat and Jerry Rickert, agreed to get by for now without any increase in the association dues. Wayne also explained our money issues, reserves and inflation. Also $7500 was added for an audit. The board accepts the budget committee’s proposal for 2008. C. Brennan motion to accept. J. Furgasso seconds. Ayes all.
ARB:
The following were submitted by the ARB for board approval:

Suggestions/complaints:
Lloyd James and Frank Streany submitted letters of complaint regarding the stray cats in our community. Collier County has set traps in the neighborhood.
Edmun Rutherford has again requested that the Friday afternoon bridge players be moved to the clubhouse due to the increased amount of players and other various reasons. The situation was thoroughly discussed by the board members and other suggestions made by the audience. T. Oteri proposes to leave the October 2007 vote, regarding the same situation, as it was originally voted in August 2007. L. Bulat seconds. C. Brennan opposes. The motion is carried.

Audience participation:
Dwight Delahunt questioned whether or not we can carry over a deficit. Randall will look into this. He also asked why all questions and answers during audience participation were not in the minutes of the meeting notes. Kay explained that only voting issues need to be reported.
Bill Cannon had property tax reform information and explained them briefly to the audience.
Dwight Kehoe suggested a maintenance fee increase of only $5.00 to build up our reserves. L. Bulat explained why the budget committee indicated that an increase is not needed for 2008.
