RIVIERA TELEPHONE DIRECTORY
It is that time of the year, again, to update our Riviera Telephone Directory. If any changes have been made to your name, address or telephone number since our last printing, please stop by the Clubhouse, review the existing information, and make any necessary changes. The telephone directory will be located outside our office. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
LETTER TO RESIDENTS
Welcome back to all our northern friends. We have experienced a bit of unusual cold weather, however, I hope that’s all behind us so we can enjoy the Florida sunshine.
Have you stopped by the clubhouse recently? The hall and kitchen renovations are 90% completed. Please come and take a look. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
ANNUAL ELECTION & MEETING DATES
Be sure to mark your calendar for these important meetings.
*Candidates Night, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 7:00 P.M.
*Annual Meeting, Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 7:00 P.M.
OUR MANAGEMENT COMPANY
"THE COMPASS GROUP"
Our manager’s name is Bob Delaney. He travels throughout our neighborhood on a weekly basis looking for homes and driveways in need of washing or any other area that may require maintenance or attention. We continue to monitor these areas in order to keep our community looking great.
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ, REGARDING DUMPSTER USE
Many complaints have been received at the office regarding people dumping items in our dumpster. This dumpster is only used for the operation of our clubhouse facility.
If large or unusual items are put in there, an additional charge is made by the Waste Management Company which is an added expense to all of us.
Please dispose of your large items through the normal garbage pick-ups. Large items such as refrigerators, hot water tanks, washing machines, televisions, etc., will be picked up for FREE if you call several days in advance of your normal garbage pick-up day. The phone number is listed on your yellow recycle container.

PARTY IN HONOR OF KAY RANDAZZO
A party in honor of Kay Randazzo will be held on Sunday, February 21st, 2010, from 2:00 until 6:00 PM, at our Clubhouse. All Riviera Golf Estates residents are cordially invited to attend this gathering and have an opportunity to thank Kay for her dedication and service to us at Riviera. Her service has truly been a labor of love. She has been on the Board of Directors for nearly twenty (20) years, having just recently retired from that position. She was the President of the Board of Directors for fourteen (14) of those years. We are very fortunate to be part of the Riviera Community which she served so well. NO GIFTS, PLEASE.

The finishing touch is being applied to the inside of the Clubhouse. We will be back to our normal scheduling by the first of the month. We encourage everyone to come out at our Coffee Hour and "check out" the new look. We sincerely appreciate the hard work of everyone who assisted in the decorating of our Clubhouse. What a wonderful improvement! What a wonderful community we have!
Despite the cooler weather and work going on inside the Clubhouse, we had a good month of activities. "Thank you" to all of our committees.

The Photography Special Interest Group (SIG) will meet on Monday, February 15th at 3:00 PM. If you want to learn how to enhance your photos, this is the gathering for you.
Anyone interested in joining a SIG for upgrading to or discussing the merits of WINDOWS 7 should contact Allen Jost (anjost@westval.com, telephone 417-1984) for session Information.
COMPUTER TIP OF THE MONTH:
Email Petitions are mostly a waste of time and are widely ignored by the intended recipient. The three primary reasons for this are: 1) a broad agenda, 2) multiple copies of the same petition will ultimately be delivered, and 3) electronic "signatures" can not be researched for forgeries. In addition, since so many people do not "forward" properly, many so called petitions are merely a way to collect email addresses for SPAM purposes. A better method to support your cause and sound off is to write letters to your State and Federal congressperson, and use the U.S. Postal Service to deliver it. Hint: Compose and print your letter on your PC, then sign it. And don’t forget to "Save" and "File" it in "My Documents."

LADIES GOLF REUNION
This invitation is being extended to all former Riviera Ladies Monday and Tuesday Golf League Members who played in either of our 9 Hole or 18 Hole Golf Leagues and who have paid into our Luncheon Fund over past years.
On Thursday, March 4th, at Noon, we will be holding a luncheon similar to the ones we previously held, generally on Tuesdays after we played golf...do you remember those days? We have had a sign up sheet on the Bulletin Boards in both the Clubhouse and the Annex. So, if you meet the criteria, we are anxious to get together and recall those good old days, then be sure to sign up so we know how many to be ready to serve. The cut-off date for sign-up is February 26th. Our plan is to order soup, salad and bread sticks from Olive Garden and serve in our brand new Clubhouse Kitchen. It is a beautiful improvement over our former meeting place! Thanks to the Committee who planned and decorated this great kitchen.
