REMINDERS TO THE RESIDENTS
Thanks to some recent showers most lawns are looking better. Let’s keep up the good work and continue to keep shrubs and bushes trimmed and shaped, this shows pride in our community.
Many of us are having family and friends visit this time of year. Remember to make them aware of our safety rules and regulations for our pool, exercise room and common areas. We want everyone to have a good time and be safe. If your visitor stays for an extended time, it is your responsibility to report to the office that they will be here over 30 days. We have a “Neighborhood Watch” in place and if someone is here for an extended amount of time, you simply report this to the office.
Be aware that our hurricane season is upon us, check your property again for loose items that might be threatening to you or your neighbor.
Remember, there will be no August Board Meeting, the next monthly Board Meeting will be Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at 1:30 PM.
Bruce Kean, for the Board of Directors
ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD (ARB)
PLEASE NOTE: Since there will be NO Board of Directors meeting in August, please submit your ARB application request to be reviewed at the September Board meeting, no later than Wednesday morning, September 21st, 2011.
Effective May 1, 2011, the Board of Directors eased some of the requirements for ARB applications. A sample of the revised ARB application with the new requirements listed on the back of the form can be found on-line at www.RivieraGolfEstates.org. Of course, copies are in the Clubhouse, too. If you are in doubt about whether or not you need to submit an ARB request, you are urged to submit one. If not necessary, you will be notified, promptly.
The Collier County Public Utilities Division is currently installing the Cross-Connection Control Device throughout our community. The device may be painted, but green or black paint is usual. By law, you may NOT paint it purple or red. And…the device may NOT be covered in any way. It is important for you to note the requirements for landscaping around the device. Basically, plants, no closer than 18”, without thorns or sharp leaves, are the only permissible means to camouflage the pipes and a 36” opening on one side is required.

LOIS' COMMENTS
We had approximately eighty-five (85) residents attend the July 4th Celebration at the Clubhouse. It was good to see our summer residents come out to brave the warm temperatures and join in on our “Independence Day Celebration.” Thanks to the many individuals who helped with this celebration.
NOTICE
There will be NO Coffee Hour nor any Clubhouse Social Activities for the month of August. Let’s all take a break for the month. We, ourselves, are looking forward to spending a few days up north with family and friends.

CLUB MEETINGS
COMPUTER TIP OF THE MONTH:Some email attachments can be very large and, therefore, take up a lot of space. This can become a problem with some web-based email providers in that they may limit the amount of space allocated to you for email storage. Consider storing these attachments on your computer rather than on the ISP's computer or “The Cloud.” RIGHT CLICK on the attachment in the email and then LEFT CLICK on “SAVE AS” in the dropdown menu. Select a place in “My Documents” or “My Pictures” or anywhere else in your folders to save the attachment. Give it a name you recognize and LEFT CLICK on “Save.” The photograph/video/proposal/document is now on YOUR PC and can be backed up via on online service (Carbonite), a CD, flash-drive or stand alone external hard drive. You can learn more about this and other handy tools by joining the Computer Club and attending the Club gatherings; (see the above schedule).

2011 RIVIERA GOLF ESTATES ANNUAL GOLF OUTING
The Riviera Golf Estates Annual Golf Outing will be held on Wednesday morning, November 2nd, 2011 at the Riviera Golf Club. This year we plan to have both an 18-hole event and, if there is sufficient interest, a 9-hole tournament (for those who prefer to play only 9 holes of golf.) These groups will play, simultaneously. The nine (9) hole event will be limited to the FIRST thirty-two (32) golfers to sign up for it. There will be prizes and trophies for both events.
The cost for the 18-hole event should be about the same as last year ($45.00 for golf and dinner). The 9-hole event will cost about $40.00. The cost to non-golfers for dinner will be about $15.00. Final cost estimates for golf, dinner and prizes are not all in, yet.
Sign up sheets will be posted on the Clubhouse Bulletin Board. Contact Dwight Kehoe at 732-1520 or email him at dwight@vakdwk.com.
