Annual Meeting 2008
February 27, 2008
President Kay Randazzo opened the Annual Meeting. All residents were welcomed and thanked for attending the meeting. President Randazzo then led the Pledge of Allegiance.
President Randazzo asked all for a vote to waive the reading of last year’s minutes by a show of hands. Ayes all.
President Randazzo introduced each board member, management and our lawyer. Charlie Brennan, Len Bulat, Joe Furgasso, Kay Randazzo, Jerry Rickert and Shirley Romano. Tony Oteri, who was absent, is leaving the board after a 3 year term. Wayne Horsewood, treasurer, Randall Hartline, IPM representative, Rob Samouce, lawyer and Rose-Mary Bulat, recording secretary.
President Randazzo introduced the candidates:
President Randazzo asked that all ballots be turned in and then closing of the collection of ballots followed. The counting of the ballots then began in private chambers by IPM representatives.
Our treasurer, Wayne Horsewood, reviewed our budget. Total income, usual and annual total expenses were explained. There will be no raise in our dues this year. Several questions from the audience were discussed and answered by Wayne.
Kay Randazzo announced that Wayne is retiring as our treasurer and the association is looking for an accountant or CPA from our community as his replacement.
President Randazzo and Randall Hartline announced that a quorum was met.
While waiting for the ballots to be counted, Rob Samouce answered several questions from our residents, including the new covenant changes and updates.
Our commissioner, Donna Fiala, also spoke regarding our community and surrounding areas, street improvements, a new library and future plans for east Naples.
Vote on rollover of excess funds into the 2008 budget was accepted by the majority. 228 in favor and 5 opposed.
Vote on the waiver of the year-end financial reporting requirement of an audit. 207 in favor and 28 opposed.
The results of the election are:
Kay Randazzo with 298 votes. Bruce Kean with 222 votes. These two candidates will serve a three (3) year term.
Bill Cannon received 159 votes and Phyllis Larkin 100 votes.
The following are results for the amendment changes:
President Randazzo thanked all residents for attending and the meeting was adjourned. Coffee and cookies were served.
The board members then adjourned to the board room for election of officers.
