Board of Directors Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Len Bulat at 1:00 P.M.
The minutes of the last meeting dated June 16, 2009 were accepted by K. Randazzo and second by B. Kean. Ayes all.
Insurance issues: Connie Wolfe, commercial agent, from Barton Insurance & Financial Services spoke at the board meeting. For your information, this agency is the insurance company for Riviera Golf Estates Homeowners Association. Ms. Wolfe explained the liability portion of our policy. She also explained the procedure for renting the facility for private parties/functions, which includes a copy of proof of liability of the homeowners’ insurance.
Treasurer’s report:Walter Rowland reported on the financial summary, manager’s account and statement of expense and income.

K. Randazzo motions to accept the ARB recommendations. B. Kean seconds. Ayes all.
Suggestions/complaints:
- A. Dwight Kehoe had suggested at the last meeting to buy a NordicTrack Pro-Skier. One of our residents was kind enough to donate his Nordic Track which is practically brand new.

- B. Shirley Sackett was asking about repairs on some of the exercise equipment. L. Bulat told her it will be fixed soon.

- C. Mr. Chaffee was accidentally sent a letter stating his driveway/sidewalk was in need of washing. A letter of apology was sent to the resident.

- D. Lee residence...there was a violations meeting today and the family of the deceased homeowner did not appear. The violations committee recommends a fine and lien be put on the property for two separate violations. K. Randazzo motions for two separate fines and then a lien against the property. P. Mullins seconds. Ayes all.

- E. Ickes...resident complaining of children at the house every weekend, noise and cars parked in the yard at 92 Lemans. A letter has been sent not only to the owner, but also to the renter.
New Business:
- A. Pool rules...several complaints of children in diapers in the pool. There are posted rules at the pool and this will also be mentioned in the next newsletter…absolutely no children in any type of diapers in the pool.

- B. Pool update..the concrete will be stained at the cost of approximately $350. L. Bulat and B. Kean will do the work at no cost to the association. P. Mullins motions to accept the cost of the stain as long as it stays under $500. K. Randazzo seconds. Ayes all.

- C. Fiscal year...our fiscal year is from February to February, instead of January to January. Bob Delaney will look into this for a definitive reason or answer if we need to change this.
Audience Participation:
- A. Arnie Hendricks asked about the difficulty with the new envelopes from Compass Group for sending the maintenance dues. Bob Delaney stated this problem has been resolved.

- B. Dwight Kehoe had questions about watering/re-sodding the lawn at 950 Charlemagne
Director's Input:
- B. Kean talked about changing the times of selling the monthly tickets back to 9:00 A.M. instead of 8:30 A.M. for various reasons. This will be voted on at the next meeting, as it was not officially on today’s agenda.

- L. Bulat informed the audience and board members that a new cooler for beer was purchased (to replace the broken one). The Men’s Club donated $200 and the social committee donated $224.

- K. Randazzo asked that the railings leading to the clubhouse be painted and also the clubhouse floor needs waxing. This will be done in August, 2009.
