Board of Directors Meeting

March 23, 2010

Board of Directors present:President Len Bulat, Bruce Kean, Paul Langford, Pam Mullins, Joe Furgasso, Bill Cannon, Ken Seppelt, Treasurer, Walter Rowland, Compass Group representative, Bob Delaney, Secretary, Rose-Mary Bulat

The meeting was called to order by President Len Bulat at 1:00 P.M.

The minutes of the last meetings dated February 23, 2010 (regular) and February 24, 2010 (annual) were accepted by P. Langford and second by B. Cannon. Ayes all.

Treasurer’s report:Walter Rowland explained in detail the income/expense statements, financial summary and manager’s account.

B. Kean motions to accept the ARB recommendations. K. Seppelt seconds. B. Cannon declines to vote. The motion is carried.

Suggestions/complaints:

• 1.   909 Charlemagne...violation letters were sent...resident was unable to attend violation meeting and sent a letter instead stating his case. After much discussion, J. Furgasso motions to impose of fine of $100. B. Kean seconds. Ayes all.
• 2.  Bobby Schweikert sent a letter stating the window treatments should have been budgeted along with the renovations. L. Bulat spoke with Bobby & explained the situation to her.
• 3.  Alice McGrave sent a letter stating there is not enough room in the annex gym to hold more fitness equipment. The board will consider this before purchasing any new equipment.
• 4.  Gareth Blackwell requested 2 hand posts be installed at the bocce court for safety purposes while stepping in and out of the court. This was reviewed with the board and approved.

Old Business:

• 1.  Electric-underground line broken---B. Delaney explained the delay fixing this problem due to the county, fire department and permitting. Everything is still pending.
•  
• 2.  Asphalt/paving..Two bids were obtained..B. Kean motions to accept the bid at $1432. P. Mullins seconds. Ayes all.
•  
• 3.  Fitness update..treadmill parts..1 treadmill has been repaired and the other 2 are waiting for parts
•  
• 4.  Dumpster gates..3 bids were obtained..K. Seppelt motions to accept the bid for $1320. J. Furgasso seconds. Ayes all.
•  
• 5.  Computer club projector..Dwight Kehoe is still looking for vendors and estimates on the equipment. The committee will continue to investigate this project.
•  
• 6.  Fitness equipment..L. Bulat states the cost of the elliptical machine is not in the budget for this year and needs to be postponed until next year.

New Business:

• 1.  Elections..because of the elections that will be held at our clubhouse on August 24, 2010, the regular board meeting will be changed to August 17, 2010
•  
• 2.  Riviera Blvd. W. cul-de-sac..has been leveled..the tree is down..as soon as the asphalt is completed, the residents on Riviera Blvd. have agreed to plant a new tree.

• 3.  Board Meeting time..a request has been made to change the board meetings to 1:30 P.M. B. Kean motions for the time change. P. Mullins seconds. Ayes all.

Audience participation

• 1.  Dwight Kehoe spoke regarding insulated or room- darkening window treatments
•  
• 2.  Jayne Armstrong suggested using Donna Fiala to get our permitting quicker
•  
• 3.  Ken Reive asked about the recent road paving in Riviera
•  
• 4.  Bonnie Tompkins asked when the fitness equipment parts would arrive
•  
• 5.  Alice McGrave wondered when the paving would be done on Riviera Blvd cul-de-sac
•  
• 6.  Dwight Kehoe asked about putting the board meeting minutes in our newsletter. The majority of board members rejected this idea. The board minutes are posted on our website and also on the bulletin board in the clubhouse.

Director's Input:

• Bill Cannon would like the ARB forms and Emergency Information forms put on our website. He also asked for an on-going list of ARB issues that have been requested through the office. Bill volunteered to participate with the financial reserves when necessary.

• Len Bulat, per request from Marilyn Malinowski, asked the board if the East Naples Fire Department could use our facility for their blood drive in June 2010. All board members agreed.

P. Langford motioned to adjourn the meeting at 2:05 P.M. B. Kean seconds. Ayes all.
